Hey Alvin! Alvin is Corrina's husband whom I've also known for quite a long time. They first met in Beijing and started dating pretty much around the time I moved out to Taiwan. Alvin is a super sweet and patient guy. He HAS to be to be able to put with fiesty little Corrina. We often talk about work when we're together as his job at BCG makes for very interesting conversations. I don't think I'll ever really understand what consultants do for a living (and neither will they but shh...).

Hey Angela! Angela claims to be a rather boring person who likes to hang out and be mellow and yet she seems to know a lot of people in the film & entertainment industry as well as a lot of models. Angela is a very friendly person, but just don't talk about the DPP around her unless you've done your research. Angela is good at organizing events and is always up for doing something, but she is most frequently seen on Chung Hsiao Dong Lu... window shopping.

Hey Anne! Anne is one of Cindy's close friends and Justin's main squeeze. She moved to D.C. right around the time I moved to Taipei. We have many friends in common and I usually see her and Justin whenever I'm in town. Anne's really sweet and has a smile that KILLS, in case you can't tell from her picture! Anne knows what she wants and will get it with that smile. She is also a well-organized and thoughtful person and is a great friend to have.

Hey Augie! Augie is absolutely the sweetest guy in Taipei! I met him at KISS around the same time we started chatting with each other on AsianAvenue. He was telling me how well he danced the "Running Man" but so far he has yet to show me. I'm still waiting... Augustine helped us with some forms that we are using on the .ORG website and is currently on the Executive Committee of CAPT. Like Vince, Augie always has a smile on his face, very endearing...

Hey Barbara! Barbara I met through CAPT who eventually became an Executive Committee officer during the time that I headed the organization. Barbara is one very organized person whom I often referred to as the "glue" that helped to pull everything together just right. We most definitely needed her! I'm convinced that Barbara should pursue acting as a second career because of her hysterical ability to entertain a crowd. I could produce a show just on her!

Hey Bob! Bob is Carol's brother and is one of the first persons I met when I first moved to Taipei. He's artistic, creative, AND musical, as in, he taught himself how to play the guitar and then started a band which now performs regularly around Taipei. Everyone loves Tall Bob! Carol keeps telling me to marry him so that we can be family. I agreed to do so only if she agreed to marry my brother. I feel like I see Bob everywhere I go in Taipei. He's errr... omnipresent?

Hey Carson! Carson is also our Events Columnist along with Mingson who both volunteer their time with the .ORG site, that which we really appreciate. How do I know Carson? I heard him on the radio one Friday morning doing the movie and events review for ICRT and thought to myself, I MUST talk to him right now. His twin brother, Nelson, is the Prime Time Editor of the China Post. Both are local celebrities in their own right. Click here for Carson's ORIENTED profile.

Hey Felix! Felix is a really cool guy whom I see from time to time, whenever he's around. The only problem is, we never know where he is or how to get in touch with him. Totally opposite from Bob the Omnipresent One! You know how people send out change-of-address, change-of-job notices to let their friends know how to reach them? Not Felix! He likes to keep us guessing! And that I am!

Hey Frank! Frank is Andrea's main squeeze and a really great guy. I first met him at a pool hall when he was still studying Chinese at the Stanford Center when it used to exist. He's now an investment banker and stays incredibly busy, but I do get to see him at CAPT events and other social functions throughout the year. A very generous person.

Hey Jeannie! Jeannie has been going out with Gus for at least as long as I've known him. I used to see her quite often when Gus used to be my housemate but since he's moved to her side of town, I rarely see her, as Gus and I do not really hang out on a social level. Nevertheless, Jeannie's helped us a lot with ORIENTED and has been a long-time supporter! Jeannie is also an active member of the community and is involved with Toastmasters and Asiaworks to name a few.

Hey Jennifer! Jennifer used to live in Taipei as an expat for Texas Instruments. She was also the head of CAPT from 1999 until mid-2000 when she headed back to the States for yet another terrific promotion within the company. Jennifer is a very TOGETHER woman, intelligent, organized, successful and well-versed. Career aside, she is also in-the-know when it comes to the latest fashions of women's clothing and accessories! There is no comparison to our Jen!

Hey Kevin! Kevin is Cindy's main sqeeze and is one of my favorite characters of all times though I'm not sure if I can describe him. He has a unique personality that makes Cindy and I both crack up, though he doesn't do it with intention... I don't think. He loves to get out and play sports, sometimes dragging Cindy with him (lol). Kevin's a way cool guy and I really enjoy spending time with the both of them. We could use more guys like Kevin.

Hey Larry! Larry is more my mentor than a friend. He was the founder of CAPT, and later my big boss at Wang & Li Asia Resources (the cross border recruitment firm which he founded in 1994). Some people that know us both pretty well say that we are a lot alike. Perhaps, though I have a lot more I need to accomplish in my career before I can call him a peer. Larry is a really terrific guy. I always learn something from him each time we get to sit down and catch up.

Hey Mingson! Mingson is a Mover & and Shaker in Taipei and is someone I greatly admire. We met at one of Bob's parties back in 1995 when I first got here. She was the one who was always dragging us to see the performances at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall! Mingson is our Events Columnist on the .ORG site and is one of many who has helped us to get to where we are today. Click here to read her profile on ORIENTED, and here to read what I REALLY think of her.

Hey Richard! Richard and I used to hang out ALL THE TIME in Taipei until he left to further his career at the center of the Universe (Silicon Valley). He is Ginny's brother and is actually how I first met Ginny. Both of them are definitely products of where they were born (NYC). Richard's a great guy. I'd ask him out if he wasn't so damn YOUNG. That's what I think of Richard!

Hey Sherman! Sherman lived in Taipei and worked for WIIG for a year before returning to the bay area in 2000. I met him at a CAPT function through Ted and Ellie, mutual friends of ours that I used to party with ELEVEN years ago before they were even married. Sherman was the one who first took me to the golf range and showed me how to swing that club. My first swing was AWESOME and that's why I'm now hooked! And I used to think playing GOLF was so STUPID!

Hey Tommy! Tommy and I actually met during the summer of '90 in Taipei but neither of us realized it until Rich, a mutual friend of ours, came to Taipei to visit in 1999. We both kept thinking we knew each other from somewhere but could never pinpoint where we first met! Tommy is a close friend of Ginny's so I get to see him pretty often, either for lunch or for coffee. A very witty Taiwanese (cough cough) guy! A must have at every party...

Hey Vince! Vince was introduced to me by Lisa when he needed a place to stay for the summer, which is how he ended up being my housemate in 1999 here in Taipei. Vince is a really nice guy... too bad I didn't see much of him when he lived with me! I was always working and he was always errr, out partying! Vince is in med school in the U.S. at the moment but comes into town during the summers. Vince is ALWAYS smiling regardless of the situation and is an overall nice guy!

Hey Wendy! Wendy was born in Taiwan, educated in the U.S. and is now back in Taipei working for various start-up endeavors. She is full of energy and most definitely has that entrepreneurial spirit! Wendy has a lot of friends and goes out quite often though I don't see her as much since I'm quite the hermit (though no one believes me). Wendy tells the most AWESOME stories, my favorite being the one of Mark getting arrested on the night of the 921 earthquake... LOL!

Hey Yalan! Yalan is my former colleague at Citibank Taiwan. We both reported directly to Beatrice Chou, the head of O&T at the time and one of the most well-known female banking executives in Taiwan. I got to know Yalan very well during that year and am convinced that she will one day run her own company. I've seen her single-handedly coordinate MASSIVE projects and still keep smiling in spite of the stress. Yalan is that capable, and a very sweet girl as well.
