Justin is a well-mannered and very polite gentleman. He doesn't speak poorly of others and tries not to express his anger even when I *know* he's pissed, qualities which I most admire. But most interesting is how competitive and DRIVEN he is, particularly when it comes to, well, sports. For example... In D.C., we were both active members of the OCA-YP and had signed up for their intramural tennis tournament. I am not a serious sports freak and was only there to have some fun, but Justin, of course, had a different agenda. By some miracle, I was doing pretty well and found myself as Justin's doubles partner near the final round of the tournament. At first I was *psyched* because with him as my partner, I knew we'd do well. But just before the games began, Justin pulled me aside and with a possessed look in his eyes said, "Christine, we HAVE to win, so when the ball comes towards you let ME get it." Regrettably...
Justin wasn't thrilled to be in the winners' photo for the OCA-YP newsletter even though we both held 2nd-place trophies at the end of the tournament. Apparently, the last game we played together bumped me up from 3rd place in the women's group, while it pulled him down from 1st in the men's.
