Cindy is one of my very best of friends on this planet Earth and that's all I really need to say. But to fill up this page and for pure entertainment value, I shall further elaborate.
Cindy is a proper, sassy, totally organized Southern girl who speaks with a very thick southern ack-scient and says "yall" and "SHUT uuuuup" as frequently as she flips her hair. Her trademark is her beauty queen wave though unfortunately she wouldn't let me post those pictures of her that I have (darn!). She's a die-hard loyal friend who puts up with my crazy-ass personality. The great thing about Cindy is whenever we hang out together, *she* is the one in charge. I just do whatever she says, immediately followed by a "Yes Ma'am!"
The first time we met was in 1990 on a very early Saturday morning at my brother's friend's apartment in Atlanta, Georgia. A dozen of us were in town for a party and were crashed out on the living room floor when Ms. Cindy walks through the door as if we weren't there and says, "... HEY." She woke me up. I took a peek to see who she was and thought, "I do not know who that girl is but she better do something about her ACCENT". Two years later, after we had both graduated, we ran into each other at an OCA-YP Progressive Dinner in D.C., where we had both moved to pursue our ultra-exciting careers. Neither of us live there any more but we've been great friends ever since. Cindy and I have been through a lot together -- and I mean a LOT -- and I wouldn't trade her for anyone else in the world... despite the way she talks.
