Amy works across the hall from me but in a different section. We used to see each other at the gym but never really spoke until I ran into her at an Internet conference, a place I shouldn't have been! I used to try to keep a low profile at the office but was (and still am) very active in community organizations.

I had taken the day off to attend the conference and didn't expect to see her there. She came up to talk to me and with her friendly smile said, "You're Christine right? So many people here seem to know who you are!" To that, I almost said,

Since then we've gotten to know each other better, and, I'm well, I'm no longer so "shy" about what I'm trying to do. She often stops by my desk to say hello and see what I'm up to. Amy is a very sweet person and gives much insight to the things that are happening in the area, especially with local politics. I really like this picture of her because it reflects her personality very well. We often grab late dinners if the both of us are still in the office. I'm very glad to have met her!
