Christine at Mike's place in Taipei
"Cap tables, Mojos, and the Fart Man..."
Got the cap table done (sorta), got the compensation analysis done (sorta), last piece is updating the financials with Nelson's help.
Man that ain't easy.
Gave me a headache but I stayed focus until I could do no more.
I grabbed a quick dinner at the vegetarian place around the corner, went home to change, and then walked over to the CAPT Happy Hour where I spent most of my time talking to Hubie (lawyer), Bob (lawyer), and of course Mike (lawyer).
At one point, the thought occurred to me that lawyers really aren't so bad, and while the idea of dating one has never, ever, crossed my mind, perhaps I ought to reconsider...
Afterwards, Mike and I stopped by the apartment to drop of his bags and then headed towards MoJo's across the street from Tickle My Fantasy for a little pre-holiday fun that Angela organized, and that is when he and I were to share an experience of a lifetime, one that I will never, ever, forget...
As we waited at the light to cross Hsin-Yi, we had just entered into a rather serious conversation about why his sister chose to pursue a career in medicine when a man about twenty feet in front of us suddenly let out a REALLY loud and extended FART.
Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....... !
Though Mike is more of a soft-spoken person, I can get pretty loud sometimes, but even with my yacking away amidst the city sounds of Taipei proper, that fart was LOUD and CLEAR and exceptionally LONG.
Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....... !
Without even so much as looking at one another, Mike and I both got very quiet and instinctively stepped back, and back, and even further back -- like a march-
ing band on rewind -- until we finally turned around and just lost it.
Mike gained composure before I did and exclaimed, "Does that man have NO shame?!"
Once the light turned green, we gave the FART MAN a really decent head start before circumventing that "air pocket" and could not stop chuckling as we made our way to the bar.
Oh my God... that was so... funny...
Anyway...
Mojos was a lot of fun, as just about everybody who didn't go out of town for the long weekend was there. Note though that some folks (ahem!) apparently didn't show up until much later after Mike and I took off, which I was to inadvertently discover upon seeing Barbara's Ofoto album, almost one week later!
Note:
I really like this picture of me and Barbara. Sigh... if only I had her eyes... her nose... her lips... her eyebrows... her BMW... lol...
I was allowed to link to this album only if I put in a disclaimer that Angela only acted the way she did under influences of alcohol and Felix. And Felix acted that way becuz that's the way he is. And these photos in no way represent the elegant, sophisticated, refined young woman that she is!
