"Sooooo... stupid..."
If you don't have any rhythm and don't know what in the heck you're doing on the dance floor, you may want to skip this entry and come back tomorrow as you probably won't be able to relate to what I'm about to describe.
So I was listening to J. Lo's "Dance with me" at the office today and got totally lost in the lyrics. I was imagining myself on the dance floor (dead serious here) and reminiscing about all the mistakes I've made in my assorted past (cough cough...) with men who weren't worth jacksh*t but who could really move on the floor, all the while trying to coordinate a little MJ session tonight since we have the day off tomorrow (Double Ten Holiday).
Needing a fourth player, I was attempting to send an email to Jay but because I was listening SO INTENTLY TO J. LO, I actually went as far as clicking on the last name search category "L" of my Yahoo address book, searching for Jay's email address before it dawned on me that Jay Wu's last name is not "LO".
SO... STUPID... !!
Why did Jennifer Lopez have to go and abbreviate
her last name into one that sounds Chinese?! Ugh.
Anyway...
Dancing can be such an unforgiving endeavor, or should I say... a forgiving one (LOL!). Some of that music is just toooo sweeeeet. I don't know why I always think that once I have kids and blow up into something huge that I won't have the desire to dance any more, but actually I can totally envision myself clubbing with my grown kids. My poor, poor kids. I feel sorry for them already.
Also.
I've never been surrounded by so many people who have so, much, rhythm and doesn't this sound like the most RETARDED missive I've ever posted in my journals?! I know it too. Call me a small-town girl but seriously, at my age, (and at *their* age, they being my friends here in Taiwan), we should all be married with kids or something, but no, we still head out on weekends. I've been hanging out with these folks for so long now that as I listen to this song, I can picture each of them doing what they do. Fond memories forever fixed in my mind.
Click here now and repeat after me:
Just let yourself go
Dance on the floor
Nobody's stopping you
Do what you wanna do
Let the music take control
You can feel it in your soul
Come on and move your body to the groove
Dance the night away
Party till the sun comes up
Go grab a friend, get on the floor
Come on and dance, dance, dance with me
DJ if you please
Good music is one of life's simplest pleasures, si? ... si.

There is no way I can remember the exact steps we took to reassure ourselves that the system is back in order. It is now one big blur, although Gus is going to attempt to document what happened later on this week if time permits. I was pretty much the Double Checker. Gus deserves all the credit. YOU GO GUS!!
