"Random stuff."

Apparently I'm not the only one who hasn't been updating journal entries. Must be something in the air. Don't know if I have all the answers for myself, but I'll delve into the finer details later. First, some random events of this past week. The most exciting part, of course, was getting a phone call from Corrina. She had a baby girl and opted not to name her "Christine" afterall. Thank God.

Alex and Christine? I just don't think so. NEXT!

Ginny cruised in for one day from a business trip to the U.S. and left the next for a trade show in Europe. We grabbed lunch at the Hyatt, and for some reason I took a good look at the bill this time and thought, OUCH. Normally I just pay the darn thing without looking at the amount. Next time... I just won't pay. LOL!

Afterwards we stopped into her office for some coffee when Gus called me from the next building and said, "Hi Chris, do you happen to have your spycam on you?" knowing full well that the answer is "you know I do Gus why?" He then proceeded to invite himself over so that I could help him take a picture of a broken part of a, a, a... treadmill?! GUS WHY DO YOU DO THE THINGS YOU DO?!

An old friend back in the U.S. (old in friendship and old in age, lol) called me up last week with a very interesting proposal that would entail some major life and career changes on my part, should we decide to move forward. Though nothing would take place until the end of the year at the earliest - and that's assuming everything falls into place for the both of us as he too would also have to make some big moves - I was extremely flattered that he would a) remember me, and b) consider me for that capacity. Regardless of outcome, it was a good excuse for me to update my resume. How very timely. We'll see what happens...

Gus is such a geek. I asked him to take a quick look at my resume and what does he do? He tapes himself reviewing it while in a cab ride, and then left both the cassette player and the tape on my desk for me to listen to. Why why WHY? Gasp! We work in the same building! We talk to each other every day! He's right upstairs as I write this! WHY DOES HE DO THE THINGS HE DOES?!

Alright alright. I did give Gus a hard time at first but listened to the tape like an obedient little girl. Sheesh. I do NOT have a secret crush on him. People need
to *stop* with the speculations. GIVE ME A BREAK.

I was surfing around one night and submitted my officecam link to two or three webcam community websites. I figured it wouldn't hurt, but at the same time they weren't necessarily targeting blogs and webcams related to or in Asia, which is the area I am most interested in (but we knew that). I just did it for fun, so one can imagine my surprise when I received this email:

 Dear WebCam World user,

 Your link:

 http://HeyChristine.com/officecam

that was submitted on 22-Aug-2001 to webcamworld.com
database has been rejected for one (or more) of the
 following reasons:

 1. Unsuitable content: be sure you submit a non-adult
(does not necessarily imply porn/sex sites) site
to our directory, containing at least one working
    WebCam.

 2. Duplicate URL: are you sure your site is not al-
    ready registered with us?

 3. Misspelled/incomplete information: have you com-
pleted all the fields on the ADD A CAM form with
correct information? Is the URL you submitted a
working URL with a WebCam in it? Also note we
can't accept DYNAMIC sites or sites displaying
    just an IP, eg.:

           http://198.160.0.23:xxxx
           http://myserver.dynip.com

 4. Non-english information detected: you need to
fill in all the fields in the ADD A CAM form in
plain english, even if your site is non-english.

If you think you submited wrong information, just
    reapply:
    http://cgi.webcamworld.com/directory/add.cgi
LOL!

Last but not least, Wayne and Arina came over one night to help Sandin with a project and the next thing you know, all of our laptops were out on the living room coffee table. His, mine, Sandin's, and Felicia's. Why? Well... I don't know why exactly. All I know is that he was not able to accomplish whatever it was he was trying to do. Sigh... some people... I tell ya. Useless.

I stepped out around 11 p.m. to get a drink at the 7-11 and asked the others if they wanted anything. Wayne promptly asked for a Coke, so I took off with some paperwork in hand. I figured I could do some thinking while I walk to the store (2 minutes away). When I got back, Wayne and I exchanged looks. Only then did I realize that I forgot all about his Coke. OOPS!

Useless. I know.

Anyways... I think I know what's been troubling me. Will write about it soon.
