"When I am productive..."

I am happy.

On the flipside, when I can't get to my work, I totally freak out and become a very difficult person to be around. I sometimes forget how much work means to me until I start snapping at others for no apparent reason.

Whomever I end up with is going to be one very miserable person unless he can accept -- make that, EMBRACE -- the workaholic within me and give me a) the support, and b) the space that I need to be me. OUCH. Few in my recent past have understood this. Not too bright, but I shan't talk about either in today's entry.

"Why keep an online journal?"

What I will talk about today is Poagao, a blog I found from Jody Lin's site. I spent a LOT of time surfing this dood's website. He is an *amazing* person, and his blog is yet another window to life in Taiwan. I wished that more people here would start their own personal websites. It's important.

"I was raised in the United States but was later adopted by Taiwanese parents. I am now a citizen of the Republic of China, but I have lived in Hong Kong and mainland China as well.

"I have been a shoe inspector in Qingdao, a soldier in the ROC army (infantry) for two years of mandatory military service, which included lots of guard duty and pig-sticking, a cameraman for TVBS, a production assistant on a couple of feature-length movies,a reporter/photographer/editor/translator for a newspaper and, most recently, an editor at an advertising company in Taipei."

Why keep an online journal?

  • Brush up on your writing skills
  • Force yourself to reflect
  • Meet new people in the cyber community
  • Learn more about photography and Fireworks (lol)
  • Learn the basics of web design
  • Get your name out there
  • Document your life experiences
  • Build your own personal community
  • Keep your friends and family posted
  • Discover other interests
These are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head that I myself have gained from starting this personal website. I don't understand why people do NOT keep online journals...
