On this date last year...
"Personal freedom..."
I woke up this morning, looked around my room and thought, "Gosh, I really LIKE this place!" It's been half a year since I moved into this room and am still enjoying it immensely, thanks to all those who helped me to put it together.
Like I said, it's the smallest bedroom I've ever had in my entire life, but so far... it's been one of my favorites.
I woke up pretty early and did a lot of work before deciding that I was going to the beach today, despite the fact that it was drizzling outside and I haven't yet found a regular beach companion ever since both Laurie and Carol left Taipei.
To hell with it, I thought, and took off for the beach where I got my much needed R&R and some space to think about everything and nothing. 'Twas a nice time and it never did rain on me. I think I'll be going back more often.
Spent the evening at Bill's place thinking that I should keep him company while he builds the ORIENTED machine for me. Big mistake, as apparently I ask too many questions like "So what are all these THINGS on the motherboard?" that was annoying the * out of him until he finally told me to go watch t.v. and leave him alone to do his thing.
Was that a hint?
Later, I snuck up behind him with my camera to take these photos while he was setting things up and and MAN was he ever focused! So much so that he never even realized that the tag in the back of his shirt was flipped OUT the whole time! Even when I got in front of him to take photos of his ever so SERIOUS counte-
nance, he barely noticed my *lovely* presence when he nonchalantly mumbled, "Hey... what are you doing..."
I, of course, proclaimed, "Bill! This is a HISTORICAL moment! You are building the computer that will house one of the most important websites ever to hit this planet EARTH and I want to CAPTURE the moment so smile! SMILE BILL!"
His response?
"Get that thing away from me..."
And all the while -- though he did crack a LITTLE smile -- his eyes never once left the computer screen.
Sheesh!
