"Typhoon shopping and dinner?"

Sure. Why not. What else are we going to do during a typhoon that never was? I don't know why but I feel compelled to work on Saturdays and Sundays like a MAD DOG but on unexpected days off from work like today, heck. IT'S TIME TO GO OUT AND PLAY! Might as well make good use of the time off.

I hate shopping with a passion but once or twice a year I go on a wild binge and try to get everything I could possibly need for the next year or so within the same 24 hours. I'm efficient like that. I met up with Wennie at the office for an hour or so and then hit the export stores around the corner from Carol's old place along with Felicia, Sandin and Katy. FUN.

MAN WE WENT NUTS. Put five women together and you end up with a LOT of shopping bags by the end of the day. I think the worst thing about shopping with other women is that their consistently kind words often make others buy things they really don't want. "Oh that looks so good on you! You HAVE to get it!"

Of course on the few times I responded with a "Hey thanks, do you want to get one too?!" they'd always say "uh, no thanks..." WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN, HUH? Here were other conversations that took place more than a few times between me and them:

Them: "That shirt looks really great on you!"
Me: "Nah... I don't really like it..."

Them: "Those shorts look pretty good too!"
Me: "Well... I guess so...but... nah..."

Them: "Hey those pants make you look tall!"
Me: "Really?! COOL. I'll get it!"

Them: "Woah, that shirt makes your chest look BIG!"
Me: "Really?! COOL. I'll get that one too!"

Housemates and more...

Earlier in the morning I got up around 11ish and worked with Gus from Singapore to send out the Email Bulletin. That was cool. I can't believe grad school has already started for him but knowing how he is, he'll be juggling everything as he always has in the past 2+ years that I've known him -- ALL AT ONCE.

Anyway, I finished right at noon which is when I popped out of my room and put the idea of shopping in the minds of my housemates. YAY!!! Later on in the evening we grabbed dinner at Warner Village. Wayne S. and his friends showed up later as did Ted T. Slow pokes.

I left earlier with Sandin and Felicia to pick up my CD from Frank's place (had a nice talk with him about his new job at Nomura) and didn't get home until almost 11 p.m. Only then did I begin to tackle my paperwork, my ORIENTED files, bills, bank statements, URL registration renewals (I own way too many domain names, stupid), medical records, flight mileage points, etc. It's 3 a.m. and I'm still up.

I can't believe I have not yet lost my f****** mind but I guess the events of the past few weeks has really created a backlog of PERSONAL ADMINISTRATION! When will I have my own personal assistant, eh?! I need help! Help help help!

Sigh... anyway... unrelated but kind of related... I got the funniest email from a former housemate who had something to say about my comment the other day about how great it is to live with these chicks. I'll protect his identity here though I will let on that he is notorious for his awesome hair, lol. He writes:

     "chris- greatest housemates?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you forgot another one! :) one day- maybe at
your wedding i've got something for you. hope-
fully, i'll still know where it is when that
      day comes! jk"

I didn't quite get the latter half of that message. What does he *mean* by that and WHY do people always talk about the day I get married?! What's the big deal?! My friends and family talk about it so much more than I do and plus...

Who am I supposed to marry?! Gasp!
