"Another night at Wypoh's..."
I got off work pretty late last night and didn't get to Wypoh's house until almost 10:30 p.m. Ugh. How do people commute to and from Taipei every day like this? Dunno. Iwen was with the cousins in Taipei so it was just Wypoh, Uncle Bob, Aunt Sophia, Wendy, and yours truly.
I bought a chi-pao top for Wendy that I happened to come across at the night market on Thursday because I knew she wanted to get one while she was in Taiwan, but I wasn't sure if it would fit her. To my surprise, it fit her perfectly. She looked GREAT. Aunt Sophia tried it on as well but, but... why is she laughing?

Aunt Sophia laughs too much...
Runs in the family.
We went to a Chinese doctor because they wanted to ask some questions about the medicine they had purchased a few days earlier. Simple questions turned into long, drawn out discussions as apparently Aunt Sophia has another "tendency" to want to know EVERYTHING there is to know about EVERYTHING.
Here she is above asking about every single pressure point on the human body as noted on the mannequin. The doctor was so amused (annoyed?) by her that he offered to sell it to her. I asked Uncle Bob and Wendy if she always asks so many questions. They both nodded in unison. Then I asked if she remembers everything she learns. They both said, "Nay."

Saturday afternoon at Wypoh's...
We took Wypoh to have afternoon tea at the top floor of a well-known department store that overlooked the city. She had never been there before and was quite awed by the development of the city over the years. We also talked a LOT about the differences between Taiwanese and Waisen Ren. 'Twas interesting.
Not too long after we got back home, Iwen showed up, along with Ah-mei and Heather whom we didn't know were coming with him from Taipei. COOL BEANS. Another mini-reunion. The Dutchies (lol) were flying back to Holland this evening so it was an unexpected surprise to get together again though for a short time.

Heather and Ah-mei were staying for the weekend. It's a good thing. Ah-mei took a few days leave from the Loveboat. Kind of funny, that Loveboat program. Katy and Sandin also have two guy cousins on the trip this summer (one from the West coast and another from the East), and Mike's sister is also there. Wouldn't it be funny if they all hooked up with each other? LOL! Just kidding just kidding...
Who knows. Ten years from now all of them just may be in our shoes, living and working in Taiwan or China. And who knows what we will be doing, us "alumni". The Loveboat is such an integral part of the ABC community on both sides of the Pacific. It will be a crying shame if the program is cancelled by the DPP...
