A day to myself...

Finally. I slept in until noon. I spent the afternoon working on my sites while catching up with CNN. Woah. So much is happening with ORIENTED (not to mention the backlog of journal entries to this site). It felt good to sit down and focus for a couple of hours. One thing is for sure... the sun shines a lot brighter -- and a lot longer -- in Seattle. It's almost a surreal experience to be living there.

Later on in the afternoon, Albert and I went grocery shopping in Chinatown, since Eyee and Mike were coming over for dinner. Tuesday night at the Waterfront resulted in some strange tangent between Mike and Albert about a cable t.v. show called Iron Chef which somehow lead to the two of them wanting to cook for each other. Whatever. My attitude is, if you boys want to cook dinner for us, you go right ahead!

Grocery shopping in the U.S. is always way cool. But even more cool is going to an Asian supermarket. I forget the name of the store we went to, but they had everything imagineable that one could purchase in Taiwan, including multi-flavored BAO-TZEs! It was totally bizarre!

Cooking dinner was way cool...

Well okay, Albert cooked. I set the dining table. LOL! What can I say? If it were up to me I'd be making caesar salads and reuben sandwiches! Albert freakin' cooked up a storm, and all I could do was sit on a bar stool near him and babble about my big plans for ORIENTED. Poor guy. He was probably thinking, WHY COULDN'T SHE FLY STANDBY?

Eyee and Mike came over a little later, and it was way fun to just sit around the house and hang out. For some reason, we don't do much of that in Taiwan, or at least, I don't. Probably because so many of us have housemates, it's quite different from living in America. I took a bunch of random photos, some of which looked like GLAMOUR SHOTS for Eyee and Mike...

Anyway, it was fun. We had crabs, mooshoo (sp?), shrimp, a noodle dish, etc. and pretty much finished off everything in front of us. Pigs, we were, but it was good food. I regret not taking a photo of Albert peeling shrimp in the kitchen. He was such the "Iron Chef" -- lol!

After Eyee and Mike left, I wanted to get out for some fresh air since I was pretty much cooped up in the house all day. So Albert and I went for a walk at a small park near the Waterfront. I was so not used to the darkness and the isolation, away from other people, that it made me pretty nervous.

I have a feeling that if and when I move back to the States and unless I am living in the middle of a very big and bustling city, I am going to have a hard time adjusting to the isolation and silence of the United States of America. Creepy...
