Welp.

Tonight is our monthly Happy Hours, with the exception of the one in Palo Alto because of course they are 15 hours behind the rest of us. Looking forward to a lot of fun on both sides of the Pacific.

We have over 1,100 people on our distribution list at this point, which isn't too bad considering the fact that this is only our third official round. And, our website has been viewed by over 8,500 unique visitors just in May alone. That is velly, velly *GOOD* no matter how you break it down, especially considering the fact that we only have THREE (3!) main webpages to look at!

COOL BEANS.

I'd like to say that all of this is happening because I am the SH*T (lol...) but alas, the fact is, that there is a great demand from a number of different people in varying stages of their international careers to "stay connected" so to speak, and that timing is working very much in our favor.

The economic downturn in the U.S., the terrorist attacks, the impact from both on the Taiwan economy, China and Taiwan's entries into the WTO in November, and China being where it's at (this would include Beijing's winning bid to host the 2008 Olympics)... most of which occurred within the same 6-month period...

FATE will have it that we were at the right place at the right time... nothing more, nothing less. Had we thought to do this a year ago, I doubt the interest would be nearly as strong as it is today, nor are there any guarantees that things will stay the same for us a year from now.

Just riding the wave while we can and having fun along the way...

ORIENTED has finally become a living, breathing, independent entity in its own right and more to the point, independent of ME. And so, as of last month I have removed all references to my personal site that used to link from ORIENTED and am consciously disassociating myself from the entity.

There was a time when all I had to "sell" was myself and my BHAG through this personal website of mine... that which is no longer necessary. And what a weird feeling it is to be where I am today...

Speaking of which, apparently a bunch of people want to know what "it" is from Tuesday's entry, the answer to the question, "What do you want, Christine?" Gee... LOL. It can't be THAT exciting.

Truthfully, the answer lies right here in this very website, a culmination of events that have taken place in the last 6 months of my life here in Taiwan. I guess this website isn't just about the development of ORIENTED but also the development of ME, though in many ways they are one in the same though let me not digress at this juncture.

I just finished writing down my thoughts in my print journal last night (approx. 5 pages, if I remember correctly, but then again my handwriting is BIG...) and will try to elaborate here online this weekend.

It's all quite simple, actually...

Life, that is.
