"Boy..."

It appears that I am no longer able to update my journals on a daily basis. No bueno, si? Will try harder. I definitely want to document my life in Taiwan cuz it definitely KICKS ASS!

It took me a few days but I finally uploaded the photos from Sunday (Mother's Day) at Uncle Michael's house up in Mucha. It was a very nice time. Whenever we eat as a family, it's pretty darn strict, everyone has to be there, t.v. has to be turned off, we all have to sit together and be a family, etc.

How very... unusual. LOL!

I'm pretty lucky as my extended family here are a happy bunch of people and quite close to each other. Nice folks. And to think that I would never have been a part of this had I never moved back to Taiwan to check things out. See? I came back to discover my ROOTS, and that I most certainly did!

YEAH.

Rest assured that dinner time in my home will be a similar ritual...

"Entertainment Value..."

I freely admit that I have this tendency of adding "entertainment value" to just about everything that I do. Otherwise, how boring would life be, eh? So for example --> names in my cell phone address book. Of the variety, one of my favorite ones is Bill's entry.

Whenever Bill calls me, he shows up on my screen as "Ding Dong".

Kind of cool, no?

What may not be so cool is that SOMEONE out there has picked up on this habit of mine and is starting to use it against me.

Some people... I tell ya.

"Other humorous things worth noting..."

So last week, I was pretty focused on nailing down the legal terms and conditions of our Shareholders' Agreements and Subscription Agreements, with several lengthy discussions about term life insurance and the possibility of a will in the event of a misfortune.

Mike had to run to Hong Kong and was calling me from the bus stop at a very late hour, to which I flatly said, "Mike you are not going to make your flight, take a cab, buddy, and message me when you get on the plane", as I was certain he wasn't going to make it.

Surprisingly enough, he made it, but this was the SMS I got from him on my cell phone:

"I made it but pray for me! They switched me to china airlines! if i die tell them i bequeath you $10k"

So naturally I had a few questions. Afterall, I was an attorney in my past life and therefore take such legal responsibilities quite seriously. I wrote:

"Would that be in U.S. dollars?"

I waited for awhile before I heard back from him. He typed,

"Ok, I suppose"

So then I typed:

"In that case, I accept."

This in turn, prompted him to CALL me from the CKS Airport to say in a less than pleasant way, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ACCEPT?!"

Sheesh...

Just doing my due diligence, know what I mean?

I was hanging out with Patty at her place at the time and the both of us were going NUTS bombarding him with text messages from our cell phones, to the point where he eventually gave up responding. It was SO FUNNY. Patty is quite the playful Brit in the house, and together we just fed off of one another.

Horrible... LOL.

FYI, Mike's company is one of many multinational corporations operating in the region whose internal travel policies forbid their employees to take China Airlines. Click here to find out why. I don't care how cheap their tickets are. You couldn't PAY me to fly with them, no way Jose.

Obviously, I'm trying very hard to avoid writing about ORIENTED today. It's only Tuesday but it feels like an entire week just flew by. No pun intended there, lol.

Am having fun though... not complaining.
