A relatively smooth day...

Short entry today. Other than a mini-crisis this morning with the dotorg site, today breezed right by. Apparently we had reached our disk space limit although the system indicated otherwise, so for the past 12 hours we were having BIG problems with our forum postings.

Once again we are questioning our web host company and thinking about switching, and yet, our contact window at our current host company has always given us excellent support. Here are random shots of Gus when he dropped by with the good news that everything appeared normal again after removing some larger, inactive components of the site.

Gus was clearly NOT a happy camper this morning. There was nothing I could do to help, unfortunately, but I did offer moral support. "Gus you can do it! I believe in you big guy!" Just kidding... Actually this is quite a meaningful shot of Gus. There is never a time during our discussions where his cell doesn't go off at least once.

Plugging away...

Below are a couple of photos I took this afternoon. It was yet another gorgeous day in Taipei so I dragged Wennie out for a second to take these shots. I can be silly sometimes (and so can she). I talked to my family briefly last night, and they noted the difference in my lifestyle this year than in the previous two years, continued below...

This time last year I didn't allow myself to relax, EVER, even during my off-hours, and I was not enjoying myself at all. Not to say that I'm any less industrious. Fact is, site development is completely different from marketing and promotions, the latter being far more fun.

The above photo is my "Very Taiwan" pose. Note the fingers. Anyway, development wouldn't have been half as painful had we had a faster connection, but conditions from out of Taipei two years ago was simply not conducive for rapid development and WHY am I talking funny today. Dunno. Life is full of ups, and downs, and ups, and downs, and...

Random observations...

I'm in the process of entering into some banner and link exchange relationships that I'll mention once they are confirmed, hopefully by next week. It's interesting the kind of Internet properties I can approach under the auspices of HeyChristine.com, very different from what ORIENTED would have normally allowed for. There I go talking funny again...

Unrelated, I've been trying to discipline myself to get up and drink a glass of water every hour. Not doing too well so far. Sometimes (make that often times) I get so wrapped up in my work that I sit here in front of my computer for up to five hours straight. That can't be good for my... well... a LOT of things. I need to make some changes.

Am having dinner with Razorfish David and Acer Ginny tonight. David is treating us for some unknown reason, but I suppose that's beside the point. I'm terrible. Don't have any set plans this weekend but there's a lot I want to get done. Looking forward to another great day.
