Short... but very sweet.

I sometimes think to myself that I won't post an entry on the weekends, but somehow I find myself doing so quite frequently. I hung out with my godparents and had a great time today, but even better was finding this in my inbox (click and scroll to the bottom of the page):

Martin D. sent out a mass email about the Haas Asian Business Conference that he is helping to organize. I checked out the website and thought, hmm... how very fitting. So I took a chance and zapped off an email to the organizers on Friday afternoon without any expectations and within 48 hours, it was a done deal.

For an inclusion in tomorrow's EB and a banner on both sites, they agreed to put my link as an "In-Kind Sponsor". If everyone were as professional and RESPONSIVE as these guys, the world would, well, SPIN a lot faster than it currently is! Okay that made NO sense at all but the point is, it was very nice "doing business" with them.

This banner is slicker than grease!

But about Martin...

Incidentally, I've been wanting to write up a short profile for my dearest Martin since we've known each other for quite sometime, but the thing is, when I called him in San Francisco last month to have dinner, he said, "Can I think about it and get back to you?" Well, GEE.

Though he did eventually join us that night, I'm still debating how I should introduce him on my site (him AND Harriet). Martin is QUITE the character - in fact I don't believe I know anyone else like Martin - so I gotta do it right. We'll see what happens... wink wink.

Don't worry Martin! I'll be velly, velly, nice! Really!

A day with my godparents...

Spending time with my godparents is always loads of fun. My godmother is a super nice person, and my godfather is one very interesting person as well. I've traveled with him to a number of places both in Europe and in the States when I used to work for one of his businesses. I have to say, the man knows his world history. Plus, we both can be rather HWA-JI (which means SILLY in English) when we get together and MAN do I have some stories to tell about our trips abroad, but maybe some other time. Later on in the afternoon, my godfather took us to see his bakery, and we got to watch the chefs prepare the cakes that were ordered for the day. That was way cool, I don't think I've ever seen that before. My godfather is quite an interesting fellow...
