"A quick entry..."

Taipei is awfully quiet for a Saturday afternoon. A lot of people have gone traveling or are visiting relatives across the island. I'll be heading over to Wypoh's myself in the next couple of days, but I guess I should stock up on a little food? Nah... I got me a KFC right up the street. What more could a woman ask for?!

LOL!

Anyway, some thoughts...

Today I worked on building a workflow spreadsheet in Excel. I guess one would call it a project management worksheet, detailing what needs to be done next by when, etc. I've done this so many times before in my professional career... it's a good feeling to be stepping into this stage with ORIENTED.COM, finally.

I also created a restricted area on my site for the latest updates, mostly for my investors but also for myself as I move this mountain forward. Obviously there will be many things I can't talk about openly in my journals, so this restricted area allows me to efficiently communicate with all of my investors without bombarding them with emails and phone calls of every little thing that happens.

Investor Relations in the New Economy.

Gotta love it.

Okay it may sound like I'm a freakin' workaholic but truthfully, before I turned on my computer I was literally sitting around the apartment wondering what I should be doing with myself. I'm going for a run after this and may wander the streets this evening to look for a... well, a bookshelf.

I've been debating and debating about whether or not to move into the smaller room at the apartment, and renting out my room. Ultimately, I am still wanting to follow through with Plan B -- getting my butt back to the U.S., or at least creating a situation where I can start to spend more time there.

If everything goes as planned, I'll be based here while running ORIENTED.COM. I.e., headquarters will be in Taipei and not in Shanghai as originally planned (for many reasons which I won't go into here, too boring), but, I will be traveling a lot.

So since I'll be a lot more mobile, and because I don't intend to settle down here, I've been wanting to start shipping things home and minimizing my possessions out here. Call me crazy but I think I can do it. And even if things change, it'll be a good opportunity for me to clean out my junk. I've just got too much of it.

Therefore -- amidst my packing -- I want to get a bookshelf for the living room for everyone in the apartment to store their books and magazines, and, I may just PAINT the smaller room in the next few days, if that's where I'm going to end up. It sounds a little PATHETIC -- living a minimalist life at a time (and age!) where I really ought to be living a little more comfortably, but the fact is, I want to start establishing a foundation in the States. And I intend to do just that.

In my entire adult life --> I have never, ever planned for my future.

I was just winging it and embracing whatever came my way, allowing myself the freedom to try everything and then some, and see what happens. Now that I'm in my early 30s, it's about time I had a "b-plan for Christine", no?

"Partner wanted for that too... must be smart and sexy like me... lol"

Last but not least...

I finally figured out how to read the log statistics for both ORIENTED.ORG and this site, out of necessity obviously as I was pitching to investors and needed the reference. The number of unique visitors to ORIENTED wasn't so surprising, but I was shocked at the figures for this site and even asked my host provider if I was reading the numbers correctly.

Last month, I got over 8,500 unique visitors to HeyChristine.com.

Woah.
