Writing Portfolio

Christine has a penchant for writing - a fascination, almost. She enjoys using a wide variety of writing platforms to try and affect a specific action or a reaction to the intended audience. The more complicated or sensitive the issue, the more challenging it becomes. Christine claims to have no idea why she gets a kick out of this. Maybe it will come to her one day and then she can write about it.

External Communications
Internal Communications
  • Operation Manuals

Christine has written user manuals for several companies and organizations. This one enabled her to recruit and manage ORIENTED event organizers in cities around the world, with ease.

  • Legalese

Many of the contracts and legalese for ORIENTED.COM Christine either drafted herself or reviewed for final approval.

Sans any formal training, Christine has an unusual appreciation for the law and a knack for legal prose. This "skill" has been both a blessing and a curse at the same time.

  • Monthly Business Reports

Christine used to ghostwrite monthly reports for the head of Citibank Taiwan's Operations & Technology Group (O&T). O&T was the largest division within the organization, and the reports were distributed to counterpart offices throughout Asia Pacific during a very difficult and tumultuous period (see news article).

Scriptwriting
  • "Beef Noodle Soup"

Based on a true story, Beef Noodle Soup was Christine's first real attempt at character development and scriptwriting, with the help of some very talented friends. All of the characters were based on people they knew, and at least one may have been based on her.

    Episode 1      Episode 4
    Episode 2      Episode 5
    Episode 3      Episode 6

A mixture of the popular American sitcoms "Seinfeld", "Friends" and "Sex in the City", "Beef Noodle Soup" poked fun of the real-life and often whacky experiences of international professionals working in Taipei.

BNF was intended for publication on the ORIENTED websites but was never released. Christine may pick it back up again when she retires or wins the lottery, whichever comes first. Illustrations by Carol Hsiung.

Personal Journal
  • "HeyChristine.com"

HeyChristine.com was a personal journal that Christine kept from 2000 until 2007, giving her the perfect platform to delve into the lighter, more comedic side of her writing style while generating interest and support for her various projects.

In addition to documenting her time in Asia, Christine wanted to track all the trials and tribulations of building ORIENTED from scratch, an experience to remember.

HeyChristine.com was mentioned on ICRT Radio, in Eva Airways' in-flight magazine, and in this PC Advisor magazine spread.
